We are thrilled to announce that both City Council candidates endorsed by SMCLC—and the only two we endorsed—have won their races!
We endorsed Lana Negrete and Ashley Oelsen because we knew they were the only candidates we could trust to listen to, and advocate for, Santa Monica residents—not the powerful interests focused on monetizing our neighborhoods.
Our decision to endorse just two candidates, rather than three, was driven by our belief that electing both these women was too important to risk diluting their chances with another candidate who could push one of them out of the top three spots.
Congratulations to Lana and Ashley, and we look forward to working with them both! And congratulations to you—our tireless, unwavering, and ever-hopeful supporters—who voted as if Santa Monica depended on it!
